As a performance and performance studies minor at Pratt, lots of my time here has been spent weaving the intricacies of design and movement together, connecting them throughout various different projects.
A reoccuring theme in my work is political merchandise and its power as it relates to graphic design. Getting My Wisdom Teeth Out Today is a projection performance piece where I am reading a poem about when I got my wisdom teeth out on January 8th, 2021. In an effort to explore design as it relates to politics, I cycle between projecting footage from the day of the insurrection and projections of political merchandise onto my body.
The piece is one part of a larger exploration into political merchandise as a mirror into society. You can explore the zines and booklets I’ve created on the topic here
My senior thesis will also deal with similar topics. To explore my senior thesis, click here
